The Clubhouse is set at the beautiful Craigies Farm in Queensferry, where families have been coming to shop since 1966 for pick-your-own apples and berries, great food, and locally grown organic wares.
Kids are now invited to join us THIS SUMMER HOLIDAY 7-11 &14-18 July in The Clubhouse by Little Farmers, where they can spend time with our fantastic staff in our Activity Club jam-packed activities (pun intended!). Set on a real working farm, we offer hands-on experiences that encourage exploration, creativity, and practical learning.
From feeding animals to outdoor crafts and learning traditional skills such as woodwork and cooking, every session is packed with children learning real-life skills on the farm.
Our goal is to help children connect with nature and develop universal learning skills applicable to all subjects in life—all while having an unforgettable time outdoors.
At The Clubhouse, this spring kids got hands-on experience growing their own organic vegetables, learning to germinate, raise and care for seedlings, mulching, weeding, how to support their climbing plants, and of course this summer will finally have the satisfaction of eating what they’ve grown! Through fun group sessions, children learn about growing their own veg, healthy eating, and how care for their own gardens.
They also get the opportunity to do rounds with the farmers out in the main fields, we helped to plant pumpkins for Autumn, learned to test the PH of the soil and what would best grow in the various places around the farm, see the bees hives, and learn how the farmer puts them to work in the tunnels, and see how growing is done on a large scale!
At The Clubhouse, the forest is our classroom! Kids will climb, build, explore, and discover through hands-on adventures in the mile long woodlands adjacent to the farm. With our in house forest ranger the kids will walk the beautiful paths cut through the woods and learn all sorts of useful information about the forest, animals and mini-beasts that live there From den building and bug hunts to learning about local wildlife, our forest sessions inspire curiosity and an understanding of Scottish woodlands.
Through teambuilding drills & outdoor play the children get a chance to practice their new outdoors skills.
At The Clubhouse, kids don’t just visit the farm—they become part of it! From helping to get the new lambs bottle-feeding to helping raise chicks this past spring, children get hands-on experience caring for animals while learning how a farm works and basics of animal care.
They’ve helped to chop and prep treats, feed the goats, brush the ponies, build animal enrichment activities for the farm.
With all sorts of treasures found around the farm- like suet from the butcher for bird feeders or old fruit baskets turned into animal toys- the farm becomes a brilliant little world for learning how to reuse and get creative.
Whether it’s cuddling a fluffy chick or watching lambs take their first steps, every moment is a fun and unforgettable lesson in animal care.
At The Clubhouse, we keep the kids busy (ask any previous attendee!) we get the kids outside if possible for our workshops learning how to hammer and build, screw and saw new creations. We’ve done mini robots, boats, birdhouses, a home for the hedgehog in the allotments, enrichment toys for the animals!
We start with making sure they know the safety basics, to use gloves when hammering & sawing, basic skills, and then work one on one with them while they gain confidence in their new skills.
🛠️ And of course, we do work to challenge each age group.
